To comply with Current Health and Safety legislation, staff engaged in manual handling must be given training in safe manual handling techniques. This training will show you how to carry out manual handling tasks correctly and therefore avoid back injuries. By training yourself on how to conduct manual handling safely you are complying with your legal requirements as an employee. Back injuries caused by incorrect manual handling techniques are one of the most frequent causes of workers compensation claims. All employers have a legal duty to ensure, as far as reasonably practical, that health and safety risks arising from work activities are adequately controlled. All employees must by law complete a manual handling course every 3 years.
In addition to the online training, a Lift Demonstration must be completed by all trainees in order to receive a Certificate of Training from The HR Suite. The demonstration will be provided by a FETAC accredited Manual Handling Instructor from The HR Suite. It is a legal requirement that all staff who are involved in a food environment are trained. Food workers require food safety training to ensure that they have the skills required. This course is designed to educate all participants in safe practices so we can ensure safe food handling, to understand the importance of Food Hygiene, to know how to avoid or reduce the risk of cross contamination, to be able to bring to the attention of the Manager any situation which might compromise food safety and to ensure you practice HACCP training and systems.

On completion of this course participants will have an increased understanding of the requirements under employment legislation from atypical workers to unfair dismissals and correct procedures.
This course is designed for any member of staff who is involved in the management of staff including business owners, managers, line managers, supervisors and HR staff. On completion of this course participants will have an increased understanding of the differences in a grievance procedure and a disciplinary procedure, be familiar with how to investigate disciplinary situations and have knowledge of how to respond appropriately to a grievance.
